Then the three amigos discuss what Jesus meant when he said in John 10 “all who have come before me were thieves and robbers” and compare that to how some Christian Mystics interpret that statement.
Then we look to our last of the seven major world religions hermeneutics, Buddhism. We discover how many of the practices of buddhism have made it into not only our western world’s science, medicine, and mental health systems but also how much they have intertwined with all of the major eastern religions.
We let history speak for itself as we look at the consequences of getting a national identity mixed with politics and religion, such as Shintoism in Japan and the World War that emerged out of that dynamic.

Hey Mike , and Daniel this is Ira , from Nashville and a long time friend of Barris Bartlett. I have for quite a while been a part of the 12 step recovery process but not with out many years of not seeing the comparison of seeing religion being intertwined so horrendously in this process. I can’t help to stand afar looking at this method as another form of just another form denomination. To add to the 46,000 different denominations that we already have. And whether a person is a church Goer or not to see how religion influences people even though they say they are spiritual and not religious. And how religion permeates our society when we don’t even realize it.
