I agree humans respond to love and affection however fear is the greatest manipulator of all.
Mike in love I want to show you what God has shown me. I fully agree with you on the gospel. Sin is done away, it was done away at the cross. Sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4 Colossians 2:14 Jesus nailed the law to the cross. LAW AND SIN ARE BACK AT THE CROSS. Romans 4:15 says it all. People do not need all of the Scriptures, these 3 verses are the gospel. There is no more sin. We need John, and Peter, James to confirm the gospel.
In 1 John chapter 1 John here is dealing with self righteous (JEWS and more specific the Christians of today who are self righteous hypocrites)They are all trying to be righteous by the works of the law. The proof is in the pudding. Look at the teaching of all the Christian churches. This is why when you tell a church person Adolf Hitler will be in the kingdom. They revolt what they are saying is I am better than Adolf as compared to the LAW. John is dealing with those who are judging according to the LAW. This is where James comes in and tells us that whosoever has broken one LAW HE HAS BROKEN THEM ALL. This is also dealing with self righteous law abiding citizens.
Now on James he is all about the gospel. When James writes that faith without works is dead. He is referring to the gospel. Those who judge others flesh as James teaches he deals with them when he says if you have broken one law, you have broken them all. This puts the whole world on the same plane. When scripture talks about fruit FRUIT IS THE GOSPEL, not our moral obedience.
John in 1 John 1 is dealing with these people. Those who think they are worthy by obeying the law. John is pointing us to the law under the law we have to say under the law yes we sin and we need to agree with God that under the law I sin I must confess this reality.
John is dealing with this in the 1st chapter so he can go on in chapter 3 to tell us that we do not sin and CANNOT sin. This would be totally contrary to what he is teaching in 1 John chapter 1. This is progressive teaching and meant to put a snare for those who use 1 John 1 to put us crucifying Christ to open shame confessing our sins continually as the churches have people doing.
WE DO NOT SIN AND CANNOT SIN ( King James 1 John 3:9)
John is essential for true believers because this is how you test the goats and wolves in the Christian church. In 1 John 3:10 he says In this the children of God and the children of the devil are made known. The gospel is simple and beautiful, so is the test. Ask a preacher if he sins, his answer will be yes, he has just admitted he is a child of the devil. My answer as your answer would be an emphatic NO I DO NOT SIN AND CANNOT SIN. THE GOSPEL IS SIMPLE BEYOND SIMPLE I DO NOT SIN BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID AT THE CROSS, NAILED THE LAW AND SIN THERE. The gospel people need to hear is that they have been forgiven before the foundation of the world.If they do not believe God cannot deny himself they are still going to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
