This week, Mike Williams and Beres Bartlett discuss their own individual histories with depression. Mike explained how the gospel doesn’t tell you what to think but gives a person a different way to think. A number of examples and anecdotal references to depression were pointed out from the Bible as well.
Discussion Points:
- The gospel presents a different way to think.
- The law is the “strength of sin.”
- Images of depression in the Bible

I have been to the depths of depression and and despair ..had two breakdowns .tried to take my life twice.
MY wife became very ill..long story .I had to retire very early…to look after her..she died on the operating table and they brought her back to life .many operations followed .she has never been free from pain to this day
..and that was 20 years ago..ì was active ìn my church for years and when I had the breakdowns.. I felt so lost and in fear..one day I had an appointment at my doctors ..I called to see my brothers in the church i went to…I was very ill. My head was hung low and i was in torment.all I coould hear was my brothers talking about doctrine.I cried out to the Lord. .what is it all about
.meaning.this is not you lord ..from that day my journey to the grace and peace of the gospel began
Long story again but a wonderful one…there is a book by Dr Claire wheeks called..self help for your nerves I would recommend. .it was a life saver for me.. she experienced depression and has set people free from it by undrestanding what is happening to the person
..hope i explained here to help others grace and peace
