Many years ago on reading in Genesis 15 that God told Abraham that he would be buried in a good old age I drew out a bar chart of the ages given for the patriarchs life spans. Six generations before Abraham was Eber who outlived Abraham and also nine generations before Abraham was Shem, born before the flood, who also outlived Abraham. I just thought it was interesting.
