There are many ways to God. We’ve heard it forever, haven’t we? Is that true? Nope.
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me,” said Yeshua. Is that true? YES! However, unlike what Christianity teaches, we had NOTHING to do with the transaction or result between the Father and the Son. Because Jesus was completely successful in his mission to fulfill the Hebrew Scriptures, we ALL benefited.
“The Gospel is not personal. However, it does effect us in a uniquely personal way,” says Daniel on today’s show. Michael adds, “Nothing could effect you in a more personal way than the impersonal Gospel.”
This, of course, flies in the face of religion, popular culture and conventional wisdom of all stripes. Read the first lyrics of Depeche Mode’s all-time best seller “Your Own Personal Jesus”. Many artists covered this song, including Johnny Cash. “Reach out and touch faith. Your own personal Jesus. Someone to hear your prayers.” Great song. Not Gospel. Then read the first lyrics of Bradly Cooper’s song “Maybe It’s Time” from the movie “A Star is Born”. “Maybe it’s time to let the old ways die.” Another great song. VERY Gospel.
While there are NOT many ways to God, there ARE many ways to Consistently, Persistently and Repetitively (CPR) the Gospel. When you listen to the podcast or watch the video teachings – this is CPR’ing the Gospel. Paul said, the Gospel is revealed in nature. When you listen to Angel Gabriel’s song “We Are” at the end of a Powercast, that is a way to meditate. You’ll hear it in the song from Ethan at the end of these 78 minutes and experience it with the Gospel affirmations Glenn wrote a while back.
Listen or watch anything you desire. But please look for opportunities to hear the Gospel. There are so many ways. It’s why we included the videos of the a fore mentioned songs below just to demonstrate some examples. Listen to the words of both and hear the difference and sense how differently they effect your soul.
The program starts with the guys delving deeply into this impersonal Gospel which impacts us so dramatically where we need it – in our brains!
“Everything and everyone changed at the Cross!” MLW proclaimed!
Then we discuss further our new understanding of when the Church began (at the giving of the Law) and how that Church was very different from the post Cross Church.
Daniel asks Michael about the mind of Christ. “What is the practical application of the mind of Christ and how do we access it?” Michael answers by examining the teachings of Paul on the subject – the only person in the Bible to speak of the “Mind of Christ”. We learn how Christ operated in this mindset and how we can, too.
We also get a sneak peak into next week’s opportunity to meditate the Gospel when we pick up on our next Commandment and Teaching of Christ – “Honoring Marriage”. So, come back next week to hear two divorced men teach on marriage!
