Millions of people all over the world do a “Dry January” during the first month of the year. They abstain from alcohol for those 31 days. Not a bad idea, really. Alas, we must admit, many more folks around the globe participated in this period of abstention than participated in the Gospel. Let’s see what we can do about that!
In the meantime, around here, we few do “participate” in the Gospel – not just during January but 24/7, 365.. We Consistently, Persistently, Repetitively (CPR) or meditate the Gospel – THE truth of every person’s perfect and sinless standing as righteousness. This is true whether they partake of alcohol, sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll or not. This was ALL produced by the work Christ completed over 2,000 years ago!
This consistent immersion (or baptism) in the Gospel detoxes the human soul from religious drunkenness. “We sobered-up,” Michael announces on this week’s podcast.
What did we get sober from? From a religious mindset which will not acknowledge that we human beings (through science) ARE healing the sick, cleansing the leper, raising the dead, plus so much more, all without the assistance of prayer, the laying on of hands, faith, the miraculous or any other spiritual activity – that’s what!
“If you’re not impressed with us, we’re impressed with us,” Michael jokes and then asks Daniel, “What are you making of all this?”
Daniel replies, “The research (and what we’ve uncovered) just in the last few weeks has waaaay surpassed anything I learned while earning a doctorate in bible school.”
The guys reminisce about the past teachings on “The 7 Pillars of Wisdom” which had such a profound impact on where we are today, take a question from Carey McDaniel regarding the wheat and the tares and the gnashing of teeth. Are these parables about people? Then we look at our next command “be wise as serpents and harmless as doves”. What in the world does that even mean? The fellas do an amazing job of delving into this command of Jesus.
As is our want in the GR, we closely examine the context of this statement and discover its true meaning AND (of course) confirm it in the Hebrew Scriptures.
It is all enveloped in transparency about our past, with humor and awesome revelations about the Christ! This is another instant classic.
this teaching (mt 13) is like a stake in the heart of Christianity. Thank you for the time you took to clarify
