From Act 2:16 “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel….”
Contrary to Christian belief, Joel wasn’t speaking of us. Like all the other prophets and the Law of Moses, he was prophesying and foretelling the story of Christ. Period. Literally, end-of-story.
Nearing the halfway point in our study of the Commands and Teachings of Yeshua, Michael and Daniel utilize this podcast to recap what we have learned of Jesus’ admonitions so far in Matthew.
It is phenomenal. So much so, that Mike jokes we are going to have to do “a recap of the recap”. He also previews a future series on Biblical hermeneutics – the branch of knowledge that deals with interpretation. The word hermeneutics most often refers to how to interpret the Bible or other texts from religions. Of course, our approach is distinct from what we have found out there since the Bible’s inception.
That doesn’t mean we’re “right”. However, it does not mean we are “wrong”, either.
Follow along. You be the judge. And for goodness sake, “prove us wrong”!
In this program, we back up all the way to Matthew Chapter 1 to see exactly what led the writer of Matthew to this quote, “This is the law and the prophets”. We start with the genealogies of Joseph and Mary, the divine DNA of the Christ, his miraculous birth, the many Kings who came to see him and why they brought gold, frankincense and myrrh, John the Baptist, and the law of commandments — all of this shining light on what is called the “Straight and Narrow Way”.
