Michael Lilborn Williams invites us all in to a conversation he had with Andre Rabe on Facebook on this week’s Powercast. The topic at hand is God’s involvement with the violent acts of the cross.
Did God have any part in the violence? Was this part of God’s redemptive plan? Did Jesus submit to man’s will or God’s will? Is a violent cross Scriptural or a result of the social environment of the day? These questions and more are addressed on this violent episode!
Tune in to crucify and help us crucify religion!

This is really quite comical; listening to you trying to decide what was supposedly written thousands of years ago inspired by God, when you can’t even agree on what Andre wrote a few days back.???
The idea that GOD aka creator, father, supreme being, giver of life etc would require creation to sacrifice, worship, bow down, submit is most outrageous.
You and I would never as sane caring individuals require such.
Only psychopaths and sadistic psychotic evil beings operate in such a manner.
Comical??
Some excellent points made by Andre and very good responses.
I learned one thing from the IO people, the law demanded a sacrifice, nothing else. I read on Facebook years ago a few amen’s when somebody posted that, that the blood was for those under the law. Jew or non-jew, because n on-jews tried to live up to the law too more or less. Did “God” need a sacrifice, I don’t think so, we did. Jesus is the end of the law because of Jesus’ blood sacrifice. It Is Finished was what the high priests cried out “under the law” when they were done sacrificing animals. What I missed in the podcast is that “the law” demanded sacrifices. It only confirms that “the law” was something real given by God, not by Moses but to Moses. If you were a proselyte, a non-jew then you were free from the law too. I never react to podcasts and you never see my face on facebook, I hope you agree with that the law demanded blood.
