Peter and Paul both received revelations of the Gospel but their interpretations were very different. Michael Lilborn Williams and Don Beres Bartlett once again compare these two contentious views of the Good News in this week’s Powercast!
This power packed episode is loaded with gems from Ephesians Chapter 3 – The Gospel According To Paul.

I have a copy of the King James version. Ephesians 3:12 says, In whom we have boldness and success with confidence by the faith “of ” him.
How does that translate into His faith?
New Kings James version says, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith “in” Him.
Is this version of the NKV a misrepresentation of the word “in”?
The Greek is explicit in stating that it is the faith OF Him. Sometimes when I am challenged with this thought, I respond, “yes, it IS faith IN Him” but it is the Faith RESIDING in Him.”. 😉 But in short, it is in the genetive case meaning that in the same way that when Paul asks Timothy to bring the books and cloak he had left behing in Troas, using the selfsame logic used by the NIV and others, then Paul must logically be saying “Please bring me the books and cloak that are IN me…”.Genetive case always denotes ownership. And we can never lose sight of the fact that there is not a single Bible translation in existence, that was not translated via someone’s predigeste theology.
Thank you for your insight.
I’m going to listen to the broadcast again, but using the interpretation called The Message, written by Eugene H Peterson.
