We have been subjected to so many ideas about the Holy Spirit, which frankly, should not be surprising, given the multiple thousands of sects and denominations all claiming the same Holy Spirit led them all to so many divergent and even at times, opposing positions.
But what do we actually know about the Holy Spirit, for certain, if we are to accept the Biblical records?
First, we know that He (may I call Him “He”?), is called by Jesus to be the “comforter”
Second, we know also by the words of Jesus, that He will lead us into all truth.
Thirdly, Jesus tells us that The holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.
May I quote Mike Williams in saying, that if what you believe the Holy Spirit to be saying to you about sin, righteousness and judgment is NOT comforting, then you might question the voice you are hearing?
