In this Gospel Revolution Powercast, Beres Bartlett and Mike Williams talk about the inconvenient reality that freedom is scandalous to the religious and those who impose their will upon the consciences of another. The subject matter turned to the American notion of “separation of church and state”, which has its origins in the 17th century writings of Roger Williams, who was the founder of Rhode Island. Williams was a puritan who engaged with the local Indian tribes of the modern-day United States. It was from what he learned from the Indians that changed his thinking about imposing religious standards upon people or government itself.
